= биомасса бактерийодин из интегральных показателей роста популяции бактерий. Показатели Б.м.: а) плотность бактерий и б) время удвоения. Различают "сырую массу" (после центрифугирования клеток) и "сухую массу" (после высушивания отмытого осадка при 100 °С до постоянной массы). Б.м. используют для выделения биологически активных веществ, нуклеиновых кислот и др. Часто микробные клетки сами по себе могут служить конечным продуктом производственного процесса; напр., в промышленном масштабе получают Б.м. дрожжей, которые необходимы для хлебопечения, и Б.м. некоторых одноклеточных микроорганизмов, которые используются в качестве источника белков, добавляемых в пищу человека и животных.Толковый биотехнологический словарь.
